As there has been alot of questions regarding the APL here are the facts taken from the Coates website. There is still some questions still being raised with regards to calibrations and when these have to be done but at the moment we can only go by Coates requirments which state as per manufacturers requirments. please read below for the most commonly asked questions

Course dates

Do you know when courses in …….…. will be held?
|
At this stage we do not have dates for courses as the expression of interests closing date is not until 22 February. Once we have collated the EOI numbers and locations we will post course information on our website. Please check our website again towards the end of February for further information.

Telstra APL red course is $187
Telstra APL blue course is $242
Telstra APL green is $297

Refresher course validation
|
How long does this re-accreditation last for & will it be an ongoing thing?
|
Your refresher training and audit is valid for two years, in which after that two year period another refresher course will be required.

Full accreditation course
|
I have a new employee who needs to be accredited, can they do the course?
|
No they will need to complete the full accreditation course which will be run in approx. April. The refresher courses need to be completed first & then we will be running the full courses.

Professional Indemnity
|
We haven’t required Professional Indemnity Insurance in the past, do we need it now?
|
Yes. Telstra now require you to have Professional Indemnity Insurance for $2 million. Please provide a certificate of currency.

What are the details of the public liability insurance we require and do we need to supply a certificate of currency?

Workers Comp
|
Do we just write our policy number on the form or do you need a copy of our policy?

Items with an asterisks (*) in front of them are mandatory items and they must be brought with you on the day of your course for audit purposes.

Calibration of cable locators & gas detectors
|
How often does this need to be done?
|
Calibration dates of cable locators and gas detectors are to be done according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. It is the responsibility of the owner of the equipment to be aware of these requirements as there are many different types on the market.
